SANS to offer the Industry’s First Vendor-Neutral SIEM Training Course at Las Vegas Network Security Training Event

Bethesda, MD, June 5 2017 – SANS Institute, the global leader in information security training, today announced security architect and researcher Justin Henderson will teach his new SEC555: SIEM with Tactical Analytics course at SANS Network Security 2017 taking place in Las Vegas September 10 – 17. This is the industry’s first vendor-neutral SIEM training course. Rather than focusing on vendor-specific tools, this course takes a unique look at people and processes and offers tangible insight to be successful.

According to Henderson, “Today, security operations do not suffer from a ‘Big Data’ problem but rather a ‘Data Analysis’ problem. Let’s face it, there are multiple ways to store and process large amounts of data without any real emphasis on gaining insight into the information collected. The real problem is identifying what to collect and how to use it. This new class is positioned to fill this gap through training and lots of hands on experience.”
