SANS to Bring Information Security Training to Charlotte, North Carolina

Bethesda, MD., April 19, 2017 – SANS Institute, the global leader in information security training, today announced SANS Charlotte 2017 taking place in Charlotte, NC June 12 – 17. SANS Charlotte 2017 will feature hands-on immersion style training courses and bonus evening discussions that address some of today’s most complex security issues. Included among the evening talks is a discussion by the Director of Critical Infrastructure and Industrial Control Systems (ICS) at Cylance and SANS instructor, Eric Cornelius – Becoming a Better Technologist by Becoming Better at Business.

According to Eric Cornelius, “It is very frustrating when information security recommendations fall on deaf ears at the board level. Unfortunately, this scenario is all too common as it is perceived that the audience simply doesn’t get what it is being communicated to them. But what if it is the technical team that doesn’t get it? Join me at SANS Charlotte where I will shed new light on communication mistakes and offer tips on how to effectively communicate technical concepts to business leaders. This discussion will include advice on how to present recommendations in the one context that all companies understand – money.”

Included among the courses offered at SANS Charlotte 2017 are SEC401: Security Essentials Bootcamp Style, SEC504: Hacker Tools, Techniques, Exploits, and Incident Handling, SEC560: Network Penetration Testing and Ethical Hacking and FOR408: Windows Forensic Analysis. Eric Cornelius will also teach the ICS410: ICS/SCADA Security Essentials course.
