PhishMe Appoints Mel Wesley as Chief Financial Officer

Leesburg, VA – March 30, 2017 – PhishMe® (www.phishme.com), the leading provider of human-phishing defense solutions, appointed technology industry veteran Mel Wesley to head up its finance department as the company’s new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). As PhishMe’s CFO, Wesley will shepherd the company as it continues to grow aggressively, capitalizing on the burgeoning demand for its solutions that thwart cyber attackers in their tracks.

“2016 was a marquee year for PhishMe – we recorded another year of revenue hyper-growth and attracted unprecedented interest from institutional investors that culminated in us closing a $42.5 million Series C funding round,” said PhishMe CEO Rohyt Belani. Belani continued, “Mel’s experience and expertise will be invaluable in continuing to build a strong operational and financial foundation to support our continued global expansion and growth initiatives.”

Mel Wesley, Rohyt Belani, PhishMe’s COO Jim Hansen and General Counsel Shane McGee, have all held leadership positions at Mandiant, another successful cybersecurity company that was acquired by FireEye, Inc. in 2013 for over $1 billion. Mel remained at FireEye as Chief Financial Officer of global services and cloud solutions until August of 2014. He has also been CFO of publicly-traded companies such as comScore and OPNET.

“I’m thrilled to be joining PhishMe at such an exciting time,” said Wesley. “Even for a company operating in a flourishing industry, PhishMe outshines in growth rate, cost efficiency, and innovation.  PhishMe’s performance is clearly driven by the team’s shared passion for protecting organizations against today’s top attack vector.”

With over 23 years of experience in finance and accounting, Mel has served as the Chief Financial Officer for both public and private technology companies. He has managed investor relations, directed IPO-readiness efforts, and partnered with both internal and external stakeholders to support fast-growing organizations.
