ORLANDO, Fla.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Trend Micro Incorporated (TYO: 4704; TSE: 4704), a global leader in cybersecurity solutions, today announced its fourth consecutive “Building a Future” service project. More than 1,000 employees from all around the globe will dedicate their time and resources to help students at Sadler and Pinewood Elementary Schools in Orlando, Fla., improve their educational and recreational opportunities.
“The goal of this year’s Employee Volunteer Day is to help improve these schools to be a safe haven for the children where they can spend time learning and achieving success together, even after school, in a healthy and beneficial environment,” said Wael Mohamed, president and COO, Trend Micro. “Children are the next generation of leaders, creators and innovators, so we have made it our mission to help foster opportunities for these children to reach their potential by dedicating our time and resources with the support of our employees.”
Trend Micro will renovate portions of the schools by remodeling and painting throughout each campus, as well as conducting other outdoor improvement projects including playground landscaping, refurbishing athletic fields, converting outdoor areas into learning hubs and installing reading benches and shrubbery. In addition, volunteers will make improvements to children, parent and teacher resource areas at both schools, as well as donate school supplies and sports equipment as part of their volunteer contribution.
Last year, more than 700 “Trenders” collaborated to restore and enhance the Grand Avenue Primary Learning Center in Orlando, by making on-site improvements and directly interacting with the students. In 2015, Trend Micro volunteered at five campuses in the Dallas Independent School District to carry out renovation efforts that helped make a difference in the lives of over 3,120 students.
