Woburn, MA – April 26, 2017 – Kaspersky Lab North America announced today that it has been awarded Building Impact’s 2016 Gold Impact Award for the fifth consecutive year. The accolade recognizes the company’s continued commitment to social responsibility through volunteerism and philanthropy within local communities.
In 2016, Kaspersky Lab contributed to Building Impact’s total of 219,405 hours spent volunteering, which resulted in over $1.5 million worth in social impact. During the year, Kaspersky Lab North America supported nearly two dozen non-profit organizations, including the Animal Rescue League of Boston, Girls Who Code, Franciscan Children’s hospital, the Greater Boston Food Bank and the Alzheimer’s Association.
“Giving back to the community has been an integral part of Kaspersky Lab’s company culture in this region for nearly a decade,” said Angelo Gentile, executive vice president, finance and operations, Kaspersky Lab North America. “We’d like to thank our employees and Building Impact for helping our company make a significant difference in the Greater Boston community.”
Kaspersky Lab’s Volunteer Time Off program encourages employees to step away from their desks and make an impact within local communities. The company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) incentives helped it achieve a ‘Great Place to Work’ certification last year.
“In partnership with organizations like Kaspersky Lab North America, Building Impact was able to elevate our impact in local communities to over $1.5 million in donations and volunteer time,” said Bridget Akinc, CEO, Building Impact. “We are proud to recognize Kaspersky Lab as an organization that gives generously through volunteerism and charitable giving in the workplace year-round.”
