Bratislava, Slovakia – ESET, a global leader in cybersecurity, has received awards from both AV Comparatives and Virus Bulletin for their ESET Internet Security product for Windows.
AV Comparatives, a world-renowned independent testing and certification body, has awarded ESET Internet Security first place in their Performance Test – Impact of Consumer Security Software on System Performance report. ESET scored 99.7 out of a possible 100 points, an increase over their 98.5 score in the 2018 report. Our flagship consumer product received the rating “Very fast” in all test cases, including: Files Copying, Archives Manipulation, Application Installation, Launch, Websites Browsing and Content Download.
The industry-standard test evaluates the impact of antivirus software on system performance, as programs such as real-time protection antivirus software use a percentage of system resources while running in the background. ESET was awarded first place out of 16 vendors.
Additionally, ESET Internet Security was awarded the VB100 certification in Virus Bulletin’s VB 100 Certification Report April 2019. The certification is awarded to software that satisfies a minimum standard of detecting malware, while blocking few to no legitimate programs. ESET received a rating of 100%, resulting in another VB100 certification and its 119th Virus Bulletin award.
Jiří Kropáč, head of threat detection at ESET, commented: “ESET’s recognition as a leader in consumer protection is testament to our dedication in providing both consumers and businesses with the absolute best in IT security. As malware advances and becomes an increasingly pertinent threat to users and their personal data, we are proud to provide a reliable solution that keeps consumers around the world safe and protected.”
