Bitdefender’s entire consumer line has won the coveted PC Mag Editors’ Choice award for a third year in a row, winning praise for its “absolute ton of features,” its “top scores” in testing, “superb” phishing protection, top-notch defense against ransomware and efficient privacy safeguards.
“Bitdefender’s product line starts with an award-winning antivirus, elevates to an award-winning security suite, and tops out at Bitdefender Total Security, which has just about every feature you could imagine in a suite,” renowned PC Mag reviewer Neil J. Rubenking writes.
Besides the acclaim for Bitdefender Antivirus Plus, Bitdefender Internet Security and Bitdefender Total Security, Bitdefender Antivirus for Mac also won PC Mag’s Editors’ Choice, acing testing in independent labs such as AV Comparatives and AV-TEST and earning the highest score in Rubenking’s own antiphishing test.
“The independent testing labs absolutely adore Bitdefender, giving it the highest rating in almost every test,” Rubenking notes.
In making the Edfitor’s Choice, the PC Mag review also covers Bitdefender’s firewall, anti-spam, parental control, password manager, hardened browser, encryption utility, system tuneup utility and other features, besides the effectiveness of the anti-malware enging and privacy tools.
“If what you want is every possible security component in one integrated package, Bitdefender Total Security is exactly what you need,” he writes “It’s an Editors’ Choice for security mega-suite.”
Rubenking also praises Bitdefender Antivirus Plus as a “tough act to follow” and adds that Bitdefender Internet Security “adds even more useful, security-related features.”
The awards show Bitdefender is maintaining, and even advancing, its lead in the online security industry in terms of consumer products even as it takes massive steps forward in the enterprise security segment.
In recent years, Bitdefender has broken new ground in security for both companies and individual users. The companiy has released the first-of-its-kind Bitdefender BOX hardware product, which protects all the connected devices in a home. The company’s new Hypervisor Introspection, meanwhile, is the first, and so far only, solution in the world that fights off advanced attacks on datacenters and organizations from the hypervisor level.
