3 Things to Do Today to Help Combat the Gender Gap in Cybersecurity
DALLAS–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Trend Micro Incorporated (TYO: 4704; TSE: 4704), a global leader in cybersecurity solutions, today announced Trend Micro Zero Day Initiative (ZDI) has been recognized by Frost & Sullivan as the leading organization reporting the highest number of verified vulnerabilities in 2015. In the study, Analysis of Global Public Vulnerability Research Market, 2015, the global research and consulting organization confirmed ZDI reported 49.1 percent of all global vulnerabilities last year.
ZDI publicly disclosed 656 of the 1,337 software vulnerabilities reported globally in 2015, which is an increase of nearly 91 percent from 2014. Additionally, the organization continued to lead in the identification of 420 high-severity and critical vulnerabilities, 1.6 times more than those discovered in 2014. ZDI was also named as the dominant disclosing institution for web browser and media player vulnerabilities.

The Frost & Sullivan report analyzes public vulnerability data gathered from nine organizations to identify the most reliable vulnerability vendors and research organizations. It includes information about both software vulnerabilities and the organizations that publicly disclose them.

ZDI was founded in 2005 by TippingPoint, which was acquired by Trend Micro in March 2016, to promote the responsible and controlled disclosure of zero-day vulnerabilities to affected vendors. On October 26-27, 2016, ZDI is hosting the 2016 Mobile Pwn2Own competition at the PacSec conference in Tokyo, Japan. Mobile Pwn2Own is ZDI’s annual contest that rewards security researchers for highlighting vulnerabilities on various mobile platforms.
