Groundbreaking Collaboration: SANS Institute and BlackBerry Join Forces to Elevate Cybersecurity Proficiency in Malaysia

February 22, 2024, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – In a strategic move to fortify cybersecurity expertise, the SANS Institute (SANS) and BlackBerry Limited proudly announce their groundbreaking partnership to help uplift cybersecurity proficiency in Malaysia. This collaboration aims to support Malaysia’s efforts to enhance national cybersecurity capabilities.

SANS Institute, a globally recognized leader in cybersecurity training, will kick off the new partnership with a comprehensive training event held at the BlackBerry Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (CCoE) from March 11th to 16th. This collaboration underscores the commitment of both SANS and BlackBerry to empower professionals and organizations in Malaysia with cutting-edge cybersecurity skills.

The focal point of this initiative will be the featured course, “SEC504: Hacker Tools, Techniques, and Incident Handling,” renowned as one of SANS Institute’s most sought-after programs. This course is specifically designed to cultivate the expertise required for incident response investigations, skills which are highly sought after by governments and enterprises worldwide facing an upward tick in cyber-attacks.

SEC504: Hacker Tools, Techniques, and Incident Handling” comprises 33 full labs, 18 Lightning Labs, and an immersive capture-the-flag event. Participants will acquire hands-on experience and technical skills crucial for effective incident handling. The course structure is meticulously crafted to reinforce learning, ensuring that attendees gain a deep understanding of the subject matter.

By joining forces with BlackBerry, SANS Institute aims to support Malaysia’s efforts in building a robust cybersecurity workforce and help to foster a secure digital landscape in Malaysia and beyond.
