Kaspersky offers free online modules to minimize security risks while working remotely

Woburn, MA – April 24, 2020 – Kaspersky today announces the introduction of a new free online module about working from home security basics. This offering aims to help customers and partners ensure that remote working does not pose a security danger to their businesses.

With more companies now switching to remote work due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Kaspersky, in collaboration with Area9 Lyceum, has released a new complimentary module. The module will help customers minimize the risk of catching the virus and will show how an employee, even with minimal expertise in IT and IT security, can organize a secure working from home environment.

The modules take place online and are composed of two parts. The first is physical safety, which examines what COVID-19 is and how users should behave in order to minimize their chances of becoming infected with the disease. The second part discusses cybersafety and how users can protect their workplace from cybercriminals while working from home. The modules are free, take no longer than 30 minutes to complete, and use an adaptive training approach so that they are personal, engaging and ensure skills retention.

“Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, more people are working from home now than ever and must ensure that their devices are secure,” said Elena Molchanova, head of security awareness marketing at Kaspersky. “Our training courses are based on these real-life situations to ensure we make them as useful as possible, and demonstrate how even simple actions of each employee allows a company to be a responsible partner for its customers. As a result, it helps to build a corporate culture where every employee champions cyber hygiene to better protect against cyber threats.”
